Cardinal Health, SourceMedical to deliver ambulatory surgery centers EDI-enabled order management, supply chain forecasting tool
Advanced materials management solution simplifies ordering, expedites product delivery, improves inventory efficiency and reduces labor costs
DUBLIN, Ohio – January 14, 2008 – Cardinal Health, a global provider of products and services that improve the safety and productivity of health care, today announced its partnership with SourceMedical, a leading provider of outpatient information management solutions, to offer ambulatory surgery center customers SourcePlus PCX, an EDI-enabled order management and supply chain forecasting tool.
Designed by SourceMedical exclusively for ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals, SourcePlus PCX allows users to submit medical supply orders to multiple vendors through an electronic data interface (EDI) connection, providing facilities with a central point of visibility into their supply chains.
Seamlessly integrating to SourceMedical’s information management software and to Cardinal Health’s Cardinal.com medical supply ordering system, SourcePlus PCX allows Cardinal Health surgery center customers to easily submit and confirm orders for medical products and automatically receive supply and pricing updates.
As a result of the partnership with SourcePlus PCX, Cardinal Health ambulatory surgery center customers can now submit orders for all medical supplies through a single system. In addition to simplified ordering, other key benefits include expedited product availability, improved inventory levels and reduced labor and other costs.
