Drape and Gown Utilization Review Program
Designed to help you streamline procedures and yield cost savings to assure that you are using the right product at the right time for maximum efficiency.

The Drape and Gown Utilization Review Program from Cardinal Health typically saves hospitals from 5% to 20%. Savings vary among institutions because each employs a different method of draping and gowning.

Our Drape and Gown Utilization Review Program is designed to help you streamline procedures and yield cost savings without sacrificing quality. This tool can help your staff and clinicians work together to arrive at the optimal utilization plan for your organization.

How Does the Drape and Gown Utilization Review Program Work?
The Drape and Gown Utilization Review Program assures that our customers are using the right product at the right time for maximum efficiency. The program brings staff and clinicians together to first review procedures and protocols and then identify what’s appropriate for them. With this program, you can expect cost savings through agreements to:

bullet Reduce unnecessary drapes due to multiple layers.
bullet Eliminate unused items by changing pack configurations.
bullet Eliminate unnecessary features by changing the product used.
bullet Determine the appropriate level of reinforcement needed in surgical gowns based on anticipated exposure to fluids.
bullet Move from universal to specialty draping systems.
bullet Identify true costs of gowning and draping associated with each procedure.
bullet Reduce time and improve efficiency during surgical procedures.

Procedure Observations
Currently the Kimberly-Clark basic pack, along with the K-C lap chole sheet, is utilized for laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures. We recommend using the Convertors® basic pack and the Convertors® general endoscopy sheet. The general endoscopy sheet offers several features that would be an upgrade from your current drape.
