Medi-Vac® suction canister systems

Our goal is to help you stay competitive in today's health-care environment. To that end, we offer families of products that allow you to meet the diverse needs of your facility and control the cost of doing business.

Cardinal Health offers three suction canister systems each with a variety of canister sizes, accessories and hardware to meet all of your suction collection needs.

  • Medi-Vac products CRD™ (Collection, Retention and Disposal)
The CRD system is one of the most widely used suction collection systems in the industry. Designed for safety, economy and convenience, CRD hardware and accessories will satisfy all your fluid collection, retention and disposal requirements. Our single-use liners are easy to use. Lid includes an automatic shut-off valve to protect the central vacuum system. Hard outer canisters are reusable. Liners are available separately or in kits with nonsterile patient tubing.

  • Medi-Vac products Flex Advantage® liners
Our single-use Flex Advantage liners are designed with safety features to provide maximum protection and ease of use during fluid collection, retention and disposal. Liners include a one-way valve built into the inner lid at the patient port to prevent backflow of fluid. The rigid outer canisters are reusable. Liners are available separately or in kits with nonsterile patient tubing.

  • Medi-Vac products Guardian™ suction system
The Guardian suction system features disposable hard, clear plastic containers with attached lids. Special brackets and stands are available for convenient mounting configurations and mobility. An automatic shutoff valve is located inside the lid to help prevent cross contamination of regulators and wall vacuum outlets. 90° adapters allow tubing to connect at right angles to help prevent kinking and impeded fluid flow. The locking lid encourages the proper disposal of infectious liquid medical waste and enhances worker safety. Lid includes accessory and orthopedic ports.
  • Guardian™ LVC (large volume collection canister)
The Guardian LVC holds up to 12L of liquid in a tough, shatter-resistant hard plastic canister. With sturdy, ergonomic handle and gradations for viewing and measuring contents. Available with two sizes of roll stands for easy mobility.

Hydroline® and PulseWave® laparoscopic suction/irrigation systems

Cardinal Health offers you a choice in laparoscopic suction/irrigation systems to fit your procedural and budgetary needs. Both systems feature the high performance Hydroline universal trumpet valve, featuring fingertip control of fluid flow and colored valve buttons for easy differentiation between suction and irrigation.

  • Hydroline® System
For the most cost-effective suction/irrigation system, choose the Hydroline system with the Alton Dean irrigation pump, powered by medical air, nitrogen or bottled CO2. This system offers convenience and flexibility through a wide selection of probes, including disposable or reusable probes, electrosurgery probes and procedure-specific accessories.
  • PulseWave® System
The PulseWave® System is designed to enhance speed, efficiency and ease of use - from simple "plug and play" setup to lightweight disposal upon completion of the procedure. The system includes the compact PulseWave pump, designed for optimal flow; the PulseWave cassette for quick, easy connection of the Hydroline valve to the pump; a complete array of probe options which can be interchanged in seconds; a single or double spike design for added procedural flexibility; and Primeflo ® insufflation tubing.

Jackson-Pratt® family of wound drainage systems

The innovative design and superb performance of Jackson-Pratt® wound drainage systems deliver significant advantages for your surgical team and patients alike.

  • Jackson-Pratt® Classic complete closed wound drainage system
Complete closed wound drainage system includes PVC and silicone drains (in an assortment of flat and round sizes), T-tube drains, small and large volume reservoirs and complete kits of preferred components.
  • Jackson-Pratt Channel Drains
Multiple channels allow for better drainage when compared to traditional perforated drains. Soft silicone material offers greater patient comfort and tensile strength.
  • Splittable Gold™ wound drains with heparin treatment
Splittable Gold™ wound drains with heparin treatment provide the benefit of two wound drains with only one exit site. This unique drain splits down the middle to form two drains so that drainage is possible from two areas of the same surgical site.
  • Hemaduct® flat and round wound drains
Hemaduct® flat and round wound drains are designed with a system of multiple channels and lumens, interconnected through a series of internal portals. This system provides more effective distribution of suction and fluid flow over the entire drain, provides alternate pathways around obstructions and minimizes tissue ingrowth, which lessens patient discomfort during removal.
  • Hemaduct® cardiothoracic drain and multiport connector
Hemaduct® cardiothoracic drain and multiport connector offer greater patient comfort and promote earlier patient mobility over standard thoracotomy tubes, while providing the same efficiency as larger, more cumbersome chest tubes. Use the Hemaduct cardiothoracic drain for procedures such as CABG or OPCABG, valve replacement or repair, thoracotomy and lobectomy. The multiport connector offers connection for up to three wound drains (with caps covering unused ports) directly to standard chest drain unit reservoirs.
